Another absolutely beautiful stay in a beautiful home in a beautiful place!!!

This was a lovely property, conveniently located to the beach and the bike trail but in a quiet location, of course it was February. The wraparound porch is a wonderful feature. The home is nicely designed and decorated. The kitchen had everything one could need. I’d make one recommendation, it would be nice if the elevator were made available on move in and move out day. Lastly, I would recommend that the owners burn the couch. The couch is horrible. Other than that, a lovely property, I hope to return. forgive any type of graphical errors please, this review was transmitted by way of dictation.

The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I absolutely love staying here. I am a repeat renter, and I have never been disappointed with my family's stay. The house is well maintained and Forgotten Shores rental company is the best I have ever worked with.

My family enjoyed our second year staying at The Stork Nest and had a lovely time. Perfect location and great amenities.

We did notice upon arrival that there had been pet urination stains in a few different areas of the house that were not cleaned up prior to our check in, but it was minor.

Love the house, the little pool and the fenced area.
Close to the beach, we spent some time with dogs in the pool area while we were sun bathing. The dogs enjoyed being with us by just laying under the shade.
Grill in bar area, which was nice for a cook out.
We had some problems with opening the front door, we informed our Rental agency and they sent someone out right away to get it fixed.

The Stork Nest fit all of our needs! Very clean. The Kitchen was well-stocked. Comfortable mattresses and seating. The only thing we would like to see added would be a staircase down to the pool area, off of the screened-in porch. But, that is just our opinion!

The houses amenities and cleanliness far exceed the norm of the other management companies I’ve dealt with as an owner and a renter.

The home was super! But we couldn't stay the whole week as we had a accident with our car and had to leave Tuesday.

This house was very clean, beautifully decorated and very well stocked. My dad wouldn't stop raving about how comfortable his bed in the downstairs apartment was. The (clean!) pool area was huge and had ample seating. We were only there for two days because hurricane Idalia had her own plans and we had to follow the mandatory evacuation warning. The rental company mentioned a possible discount due to our shortened stay but I haven't heard from them since. To be clear, we did not purchase rental insurance! (You live and you learn) Im still Hoping they have mercy on us and send a small discount for the future. We were only there for two days but they were two amazing days partially in thanks to this beautiful home! We definitely hope to book it again in the future and get the full experience regardless of whether they send us a discount or not. The rental company did contact us about the hurricane which was nice because until then we were simply living in island bliss lol So the heads up was nice and appreciated! Also the walk to the beach was a breeze even for my mom and dad who are nearly 70 :)

Love the house and the location and for our third year in a row we had a great week at the Stork Nest. However the house is beginning to show a bit of wear. The pool has missing tiles and cracks and the toilet seats are at least a year overdue for replacement. Besides that there have been some improvements that definitely make this property our favorite.

My family spent the last week at The Stork Nest as first-time visitors to SGI. It felt like staying in someone's home as opposed to a rental: Fully furnished and decorated, full kitchen chocked-full of anything you may need, outdoor spaces are a great combination of shaded, screened; house was incredibly clean and the location was perfect for beach and overall access.

This was my fourth visit to The Stork Nest and it has never disappointed. My family and I love to stay here. The location is perfect and the updates keep making this vacation home one of our favorites. The private pool is great for evenings spent with family and the kitchen is fully stocked for preparing meals together.

The home is well located with a short walk to the beach. It is well arranged. The kitchen is well stocked. The porch has lots of furniture that is very comfortable. The AC works fine. WIFI easy to use. Dining room has lots of space and an adequate number of chairs. The master bedroom is quite large and the other bedrooms are very adequate. Plenty of parkin space. Pool is nice and well located with plenty of furniture and very private. Bathrooms are very good size, in fact, the master bath is huge.
Suggestions for improvement. We were there three weeks. Number of bars of soap and rolls of toilet paper were inadequate. The number of chairs in the living room was not adequate for eight people having only six seats counting four on the couch which then was pretty tight. The chair in the master bedroom should be replaced as it rocks but with horrible noise as it rocks. The chair overall is very uncomfortable. The bulb socket on the lamp next to the bed in the master bedroom was not safe because it was hanging to one side. Though pool cleaner men came twice while we were there the pool was not very clean but not so unclean that we could not enjoy it. One major problem is the access to the down stairs bedroom/apartment. To get there you have to go down the stairs in the front of the home as you can see in the picture and then go around to your right the through the garage to get to the apartment or the pool. Very inconvenient overall especially if it is raining or someone is trying to carry items. The pool steps are very click and have no none slip strips or any kind. One of our party, though holding on to the rail, slipped cracking the fibula and incurring a very bad sprain. A trip to the nearest hospital resulted in a need to go to Tallahassee for orthoepic treatment.

This was our first trip to SGI and The Stork Nest was in an excellent location. Very short walk to the beach. House was clean and had everything we needed and then some. Very well stocked! We enjoyed the pool in the afternoons after we came back from being on the beach and eating supper. Very relaxing and quiet vacation. Would definitely rent this house again.

This was our first time in 10 years of coming to SGI for our yearly family vacation that we rented through Forgotten Shores Properties. Holy cow, what a GREAT management company. Kept in contact with me (beyond the standard emails), called me on the way down to advise of a cleaning issue, and were on site when we arrived, making sure everything was ok. Even got a call during our stay to make sure all was going according to plan. The property was in AMAZING condition...sometimes it's a **** shoot, as the pictures featured don't always tell the full story. 12/10. Would for sure rent through Forgotten Shores again!

We had a wonderful 7 day stay at The Stork Nest. The house was beautiful on the inside & out & the owners have thought of everything you could need for your stay. The house was spotless, the kitchen was fully stocked & the beds were so comfy.We loved the pool area & that it is pet friendly!We have rented from Forgotten Shores in the past & would highly recommend them if you are looking for a nice home to stay.

We loved the home! It was perfect for what we were looking for and I was able to bring my two dogs along. The kitchen had every utensil we could have needed and everything was labeled so we didn't have to spend time searching for things. The backyard/pool area was fantastic. Lot's of seating so we could be in the sun or shade when we wanted without having to drag chairs around. Only downside (we missed when booking the home) is there are no stairs going from the pool area to the main floor so you have to walk around to the front steps, which was a little inconvenient but certainly did not ruin our vacation!

We had a wonderful experience at the stork nest! Right across from the Public beach access made it easy to take our golf cart to the beach or even walk if needed. Private pool was extremely clean as well as the house. Beds were comfortable and home was fully furnished. Would definitely give 5 stars and would recommend to anyone wanting a great home to stay for a vacation.

This is a beautiful home a short walk from the beach. The home is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. They truly thought of everything. The apartment downstairs was perfect for my parents so they didn’t have to walk up and down the stairs as much. The pool area is a little piece of paradise. We ate most of our meals on one of the 2 beautiful porches upstairs. The location to the downtown area is about a mile away so either take your bike or rent a golf cart from
Island Dog Outfitters so you can explore the island. We loved everything about this rental and can’t wait to go back again!

This was our second time staying at the Stork Nest and again loved everything about the home. The improvements to the pool area were a great surprise and we loved the front deck and screened in porch areas.

We had a great stay! The new shower in the downstairs unit is lovely. The house has everything you would need and is so pet friendly with a fully fenced in yard and porch.

Overall, this was our 3rd stay at The Stork Nest and again we had a wonderful stay. The new upgrades to the facility were appreciated (especially the heated fan in the 1st floor shower!). This time one of the members in our party accidentally left behind a couple of items. The staff was able to locate them and mail them back and I appreciate that extra courtesy. We will surely return to The Stork Nest and SGI.

We were very satisfied with the House! The layout on main floor was very nice, with beautiful decor, and what a great stocked kitchen! The porch/deck was awesome for morning coffee, reading, beach view, afternoon dozing, evening cocktails. The location for us was convenient for beach access, walking both sides of the island for nature walks, as well as getting to to town via bikes, walking, or driving. Was a little cool for using pool but hat a beautiful patio, yard, pool, which we did use when grilling, or just sitting outside. The downstairs apartment is great also and very useful for guests.
The beach gear credit was a nice addition for chairs, bikes, etc, and the owner, manager were easy to communicate with.
We would definitely return to the Stork Nest!

Our stay was very nice. There was plenty of room for 4 adults & 3 children. The only things I would suggest is that smart TVs are put in. We stream a lot & was hoping to use our YouTube tv while there & only one tv in guest room had a Roku. The kids wanted to watch Disney in the evenings & was unable to. Not a great selection to watch. If it had been summer months it probably wouldn’t have mattered as much. Also blinds in kitchen would be nice. It got very hot & bright in there while cooking during the day. Also, ice didn’t dispense for some reason from refrigerator but it wasn’t a big deal because it still made ice.

We loved this house and never having been to St. George we were thrilled with the location. The proximity to the beach and restaurants was exactly what we were looking for. Our favorite amenities were the pool in the backyard and the wrap around porch that allowed us protection to watch the rainstorms.

As always, it was wonderful! The house is wonderfully stocked and in a perfect location. We love hanging out as a family by the pool at night and the beach by day. Any issues that we have ever had have been taken care of very promptly. Forgotten Shores Properties are wonderful to book through. We hope to continue to rent year after year here.

We loved our stay at the Storks Nest. The home is beautiful and well stocked. Wonderful memories were made here on this beautiful Island. Thank You for a wonderful trip to Paradise.

The best part of this house was the location to the beach and the porch. The house reflects being rented time and time again. The garage had several electrical outlets without covers. The in-law suite does NOT have a shower. The ceiling started dripping onto the couch and then increased to 2 leaks during our stay. If raining you had no way of getting into the main house. The steps were treacherous at night because the solar lights around the steps didn’t work. The entrance to the pool was awkward. You had no entrance from the house itself. The guest bedroom upstairs was extremely hot. We found roaches in the washing machine. Garbage under the chairs in the living room. The refrigerator had a lchild’s lunch box with food left ion top of it. The large coffee pot didn’t work. I pulled out a bowl that had a hole in it. The mini split in the in law suite only cooled the bedroom itself which left the bathroom extremely warm. The in law suite had no instructions for the television. The house lists that is is stocked with beach equipment which is exaggerated. All of these issues are factual. We did spend a lot of time on the porch which was really nice. I hope our review helps maintain this home because we really love the island.

Our time at the Stork's Nest was great! The property was just as described, we had no issues with house, and getting in and out was super easy. The kitchen is well stocked, the property is maintained nicely, and the walk to the beach was nothing. We rented bikes, chairs, and a wagon for our stay and used all of them daily. There are some umbrellas in the garage area, so you don't need to bring one or rent one. The pool is lovely, but not heated, so best to use on very hot days. Plenty of towels and the laundry was easy to use, but do bring beach towels as those are not provided (but the listing mentions this too). We had our teenage daughter use the lower level suite, which she loved, but at night she was a little nervous to be alone. Obviously we knew about it ahead of time, but be sure you are aware that it is a separate entrance and you have to walk outside to enter the main house. Also mentioned in another review was the scent in the lower level-I would agree that it is powerful and suggest that the management company adjust the scent in the future, but it is not a deal breaker. The lower level might be nice for using the sleeper sofa so a couple of younger people stay together or if two families are traveling, one can stay downstairs and one upstairs.

We spent a lot of time walking the beach (which is endless), going to the state park - riding bikes there was fun, and hitting Aunt Ebby's ice cream parlor daily. We got food from Paddy's Raw bar which was decent, but since we don't eat oysters, I think we missed out on the best of what they have to offer. If you have any dietary needs, be sure to grocery shop elsewhere. We actually shopped at Publix in Panama City, tossed things in a cooler we bought at the store, and continued our drive to St. George Island. Lots of games and books at the house too!

Overall, great experience!

The Stork's Nest was exactly as described and more. We did not want for anything during our stay. Literally bring your clothes and everything you need is already there. Location was excellent. We immediately felt right at home and did not want to leave. One note about the downstairs unit. While we did not use this space we did check it out. The fragrance used to freshen the air takes your breath away - I would almost consider this space unusable due to the smell.

Beautifully appointed, great location and sparkling clean. We loved the Stork Nest, especially sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine during sunset.

We took our family and grandchildren to St. George for the Thanksgiving holidays. The Stork Nest was absolutely perfect for us. Our daughter's family slept in the separate living space on the ground floor, but our days and evenings were all enjoyed together on the upper level. The home is beautifully furnished and welcoming. The decks are so spacious -- we loved spending our time gathering there, doing yoga, I even did my work on the enclosed side porch and still felt like I was at the beach while working. The management team was wonderful -- we were very low on towels when we first arrived and they quickly responded and brought more. The pool was another win for the grandbabies to play in, and the beach was such a short walk! We loved our warm, sunny days playing and riding bikes and relaxing at the beach and in the house. My only recommendation would be replace the pots and pans. The pans were old and caused a lot of sticking and burning -- we had to throw out a couple of meals that just didn't work because of the pans. With that easy fix, The Stork Nest is a great home to stay at while your visiting St. George. Highly recommend.

We LOVED staying at The Stork Nest! The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and beautifully decorated. The porches were the perfect place to work and school remotely. It was a couple minute walk to the beach and there was a clear view of the gulf from the porch. Forgotten Shores property management was super helpful and very quick to respond to a door lock issue and very accommodating to a last minute date adjustment. We would definitely recommend the Stork Nest!

We booked The Stork Nest when our Disney Cruise was cancelled due to Covid. We needed a private getaway for our high risk family members. I contacted the rental agency and gave her all of my wishes in a vacation home. She gave me a couple options, and this home was perfect. It was clean, plenty of space, allowed our golden doodles to come along, had a pool, was close to the beach, and had a nice yard. It was perfect!

This is our second trip to this rental house and loved it again. It is in the perfect location on the island. Golf cart accessible, with a beach view, private pool and a very nice home. My entire family loves vacationing here!

The stork nest was perfect. The house is fully stocked. The location is perfect. It was everything anyone would need. We had one issue while on vacation the dryer belt broke, contacted Jamie and the repair man was there in a few hours. Would highly recommend.

House is exquisitely decorated! Every detail was over the top! So much attention to detail! Huge furnished large wrap deck and beautiful gated private pool with pergola. 2 minute walk to beach which was made easy with the beach cart. Only issue was that the mother in law quarters (downstairs) shared no internal access with the rest of the house. Also the only access to the main house was up 2 flights of stairs for the front door. Neither were a big deal for us so would definitely stay again. The house has absolutely everything you will need except beach towels. Love the fact it was dog friendly and the neighbors behind were extremely nice and friendly!

First time to the island and we will definitely be coming back. The Stork Nest home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, we ended up extending our stay for an extra week! Wifi allowed us to work and school remotely and having such a wonderfully stocked home made cooking easy! The island has a wonderful grocery store that had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. House was close to the beach, the walk was simple with the provided beach cart! We used our rental credit to get bikes, and we used them daily, riding to each end of the island.

The perfect vacation home with all the amenities one could possibly need! This was the perfect home for our family vacation! Beds were comfortable and home was cutely decorated with plenty of space! Only one block back from the beach with access on same street!
Pool was not heated but we were still able to get in and enjoy with weather in the mid 70's!
We had fun sitting on the porch drinking our coffee each morning!
Only negative was the downstairs suite had a very musky smell and only has a wall AC unit with over head fans, so it gets quite humid to add to the mustiness.

There was a lot to like about this property. The Stork Nest was where we expected, nice and clean, easy to access. While not on the beach, that puts it closer to two entrances to a nature area on the bay, which was great for short walks. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked the only things we needed to buy was food. The house was nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a challenge with the TV, but the management company Forgotten Shores was fairly quick to get the cable people out to resolve the incorrect configuration. Recently the owner has installed a "lift" to get from the ground to the living floor, but it is not available to guests.

We needed a place where our two good sized dogs could be with us. We picked this house because the photographs made it look like we could let our dogs out a door on the main living level and they could go down a set of stairs and help themselves to the fenced in area around the pool. It turned out that was not the case, there is no stairway directly down to the pool, so it was on the leash more times per day than we had hoped.

We still had a great time, especially since dogs can be on the beach if leashed.

We were there in winter season, if you are not familiar with Saint George Island in February, it is pretty quiet, so some businesses were still closed. Eating outside was not always pleasant and some of the great restaurants have limited indoor seating, just be prepared.

We had a wonderful week long holiday with family members. We were able to enjoy beautiful weather on the beach as well as the porches at the Stork Nest. We grilled and had family meals in the screened area. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and we cooked a full Thanks Giving meal there. The kitchen was well organized and cabinets labeled so everything was easy to locate at each mealtime. I appreciated that the house was so clean and well kept in every area. Jamie, our property manager is always on her game staying in contact and making sure we are having a great experience. We can always depend on her each time we have visited St.George Island. We will enjoy booking the Stork Nest again.

We love St. George Island, and The Stork's Nest!! We have been visiting St. George for years, the last two years renting through Forgotten Shores. We won't rent from anyone else! The properties are clean, and well maintained. They have everything you need for a comfortable stay, and more!

This was our first trip to SGI and it was amazing. From the moment we opened the door and walked in, the house felt like home. The owners added personal decorating touches along with cozy furnishings to invite us in. The kitchen is the most well stocked with plenty of plates, bowls, cooking utensils and pots and pans that I’ve ever seen in a rental. The bedrooms were comfortable and all had a TV. We enjoyed the screened porch for breakfast and the front porch was one of our favorite features of the house. It captures the ocean breeze. We really loved the private pool as well as the easy access and walkway to the beach. We are a group of 7 adults and we each were able to do what we wanted to do: pool or beach. The owners are, kind, available and helpful. I would definitely rent this beach house again.

Such a beautiful home that is perfectly decorated and very clean. We stayed with our family of four, a set of grandparents and our dog and it was the perfect size. The walk to the beach is super easy. It’s on the one “busy” road in SGI so there is car noise but the view is still wonderful. The kitchen is fully stocked - to the point that finding space for your dry goods wasn’t super easy. The pool was chilly in April and can’t be heated so if you are going in the colder months, keep that in mind. We had a lovely stay and would definitely consider returning to this house.

The house has everything you need and is perfectly decorated. The porches and the pool are where you will want to spend your time when you are not on the beach. Sofas and chairs are on the front porches both upstairs and down, and a sofa and large table on the side porch.

Inside there are two bedrooms upstairs and a large mother-in-law suite downstairs—Perfect for families with multiple ages! Our adult son was happy to have his own space. The master bath is dreamy! They do provide soap, laundry detergent, cleaners, dish soap, napkins, paper towels, and dish washer detergent so you can leave those things at home. Another space saver for you is that they have 2 beach chairs, a float and a few beach toys.

My wife, her sister, our two Boston Terriers and myself had the pleasure of staying at the Stork’s Nest for a week in September 2018 and the property was amazing! Being only a three minute walk from the beach was great, having completely separate living quarters upstairs and downstairs was awesome, our own private pool and outdoor private shower after the beach was perfect and the list goes on and on. The house had everything we could have needed from a kitchen fully stocked with every pot, pan and utensil we needed, plus a great wrap around deck, ceiling fans everywhere and all the puzzles and games we could want. We loved the property and will certainly be staying here again the next time we come to St George Island!
