The Gulf Beach area of St. George Island extends two miles East and two miles West of the center of the Island. This neighborhood location offers easy access to the commercial area of the island including many stores, restaurants and shops. This area of the island is the only place you can rent a Golf Cart, and it provides easy and convenient beach access points at the end of every street. Near the foot of the bridge there are two public boat launches and easy places to put in your kayaks or jet skis. The middle of the island on the beachside is home to the newly reconstructed St. George Lighthouse, Lighthouse Park and Museum. This is adjacent to the main public beach access and pavilions.
