The Lite House

My family and friends enjoy staying at this house . The view is amazing . The house has almost everything you will need for your stay . The only issue I have is that the master bedroom has a musky moldy smell . Also we had several water bugs come visit us in the master bedroom ... we live this place and will most likely rent it again next year for our fall break .

House was well equipped. We were only 2 people but could hold 6 people easily. Very clean and kitchen and bathroom well equipped. Walking distance to bars and restaurants on island. Would definitely come back to this beautiful beach house.

Great location for a fun vacation of beach time.

This is our 3rd year in this property and we are very pleased with it. We have been coming to the area for 25 years and this is our 15th year on SGI. We have stayed at a few different properties and enjoy this property. The only downside - you have to get your stuff out to the beach early in order to get a spot due to the close proximity of neighbors.
This year - the property was the cleanest we have ever seen when we arrived. Close walking distance to the shops and Blue Parrot.
The very-few negatives: Could use a few extra forks (5 isn't enough), the weather stripping on the road-side door is missing - allows bugs to come in and the exhaust fan in the bathroom sounds like it is going to take off any day now.
Had to talk with the property manager during the week to give permission for a service call and they were friendly and knew the area (unlike another property management company).
Would recommend this place to anyone - except for the week we want it.

The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and our teens went for ice cream and biked most days. Space is good and all the appliances worked, water pressure was good, deck space was excellent. Loved having the top deck gate so we could sit on the deck with our dog and not worry. We were completely aware for the money and dog friendly, there would be normal wear and tear on the property. Furniture was comfortable and beach walk was in good shape (no splinters with trex). We did bring our Amazon fire stick and we had no problems with the wifi. We liked that we were far enough from the public access so we had lots of space on the beach. Every house just picked a spot on the first day and we all stuck to it all week.

My wife and our dogs had a wonderful month long stay at the Lite House. Having coffee on the deck watching dolphins became a daily activity. It was a very relaxing stay.

This was my 15th January in SGI and by far, the best visit ever.

extremely easy check-in; emailed door code few days ahead of arrival, property was clean when we arrived and everything was as listed. Great location on island and perfect view of fireworks, 10/10

The house was very clean when we arrived - which we were surprised because over the past few years, cleaning hasn't been a priority for most companies.
The house is in a good location - as long as you realize you are in a more condensed area and there will be people on top of you on the beach. But you can walk easily to the shops and restaurants.
The only major issue we had with the place is that during our stay, we killed 4 roaches. Normally I would just pass this off as "Florida", but we haven't had that issue too often in our stays on SGI and it was surprising to see since our house was very clean when we got there.
Minor issues we had, I noticed that the weather striping on the front door doesn't go down to the floor and you can see outside. The sliding doors don't lock and some of the doors don't open all the way. Nothing that affected our vacation though.
Overall - it is one of the nicer Island Cottages that we have stayed in.

Upon arrival, someone stopped by to check on how their cleaning crew did. They noticed it was hot, so immediately sent someone over to check. All was good - just needed a few minute to cool off! We also misplaced our golf cart key and on their own, they went to the rental shop and got us a spare! What great service!

Location was great. Walking distance to alot of places.
The home was very nice; cozy, very comfortable beds, clean, plenty of pantry storage in the kitchen, kitchen was well stocked with cups/plates/utencils. If anything, maybe they needed some paint touch ups and bathroom door in master didnt shut well, but that is so very minor The deck layout was fabulous! Loved having gates on all the deck levels. The shower as you get off the beach was so nice! For the value, we will definitely rent again!

We stayed here for four weeks with our pups and loved every minute of it. The view is beautiful. Rain or shine. The house is very comfy. Furniture, bed was very good. Kitchen was well stocked for when we cooked. It was nice to have three decks to choose from depending on what the weather was doing. There are restaurants, grocery, shopping within walking distance. On the island I highly recommend Webers donuts and Island Dog gift shop. Off the island in Apalachicola the Oyster City Brewing Co and the Owl Tap Room were our favorites. I would highly recommend this house and would definitely return

Highly recommend Forgotten Shores Properties. The staff is friendly and always helpful with rental and non rental related questions.

The house is in a great location - looks out on the beach and its right at the center of the island. It is in dire need of maintenance and updating. Kitchen cabinets had velcro on them to keep them shut.

Right on the beach, clean, had everything we needed for the week. Rental company extremely helpful and quick turn around for any questions we had. The rental is very near the grocery stores and in walking distance to several businesses such as ice cream stores, beach wear, seafood trucks, and a couple of restaurants. The free Vacay Gear was sweet too for renting a kayak and beach umbrellas.

If you are looking for a laid back beach experience this is your place! Great lay out, well appointed kitchen, comfy beds, and absolutely awesome views. Easy walk to the beach so it makes it great for families with lots of gear or families who have young ones that require a mid day break. LOTS of stairs so if your knees are wobbly take care with this property ... you WILL get your work out! Also - GREAT property managers ... very attentive and thoughtful!

The rental was great! Very cute and had everything we needed. We didn’t have AC for most the trip in the upstairs areas but they worked with us to get portable units to cool it down. The house had a few dirty things here and there but nothing we couldn’t take care of. Great location and great people to fix issues with good communication. We will book again and recommend Forgotten shores for vacation rentals.

We loved the central location, being on the beac, and the size of the house. We were a party of six and had plenty of space. The house had everything we needed so no complaints from me. The island has a few haunts that are worth a visit and the proximity to Apalachicola was a bonus. We will definitely visit again.

This was our first time to visit St. George Island and we LOVED it! The island is an absolute gem!The Lite House is an excellent location. It is close to all the restaurants and the beach is right out the back door.
The house was okay, but could use some updating. I'm sure it was very lovely back in the day but it needs fresh paint, new bathroom door in the master, new cabinet doors in the kitchen and updated bathrooms.

We unfortunately had a week of very cold and rainy weather which is not the fault of the property management. Actually, Jamie was very helpful and followed up quickly when we had a problem. We were disappointed that the house next door was being renovated and we couldn’t sit on our deck without having power saws going constantly a few feet away. We enjoyed the Owl Cafe in Apalachacola. We felt that the property was clean but the fact the other homes were only a few feet away was a problem.

There are about forty cottages, all pretty much the same, right in a row and close the town center. There are several restaurants within walking distance. There is a bike/walk path I close by. There are trails at the state park. I was warned that the cottage is a bit dated, but there really wasn’t much wrong. I was very happy with the amenities and the responsiveness of the rental company. Numerous decks will keep you in sun or shade. In November, it was not crowded until thanksgiving week. The beach is beautiful! The view was beautiful. Hoping to go back again! AND don’t miss the Blue Parrot.

A little remote from top tier amenities -- groceries and shopping, but local retailers able to meet the need. Property was clean, furnishings were great, wifi was fantastic, tv/cable options very generous, and A/C worked great. Property needs some attention: toilet seats loose, out door furniture aged and some were rusty, and gates from deck to deck absent; but that is me being picky, overall very nice. Highlight was sunrises! We didn't contact management as not needed, transactions were all efficient and straightforward. We will be back.

We came in August and were blessed with dry weather for most of the week. A wonderful vacation.

Great experience every time. We are repeat renters of this home. Jamie, from the rental agency, was almost like a personal concierge. She made the week possible.
The location is excellent...walking distance to most everything and the private beach is awesome. We always have great neighbors and have established lasting family relationships.

Perfect location, perfect experience. Had one small maintenance issue with the dishwasher, but it was resolved within a few hours. Great responsiveness and courtesy from everyone.

My husband and I had visit St George Island seven times and this time was the best of all. The Little Lite House was perfect. We brought our two dogs and we all had a great time. There was everything we need to have a greT time. House was very clean and decorated beautifully. The manager was so helpful with everything. Best time ever!!
